A Diet which includes raising a Champagne Glass – Reena Chauhan

January 10, 2013

How do you get into a great shape after Christmas without cutting out drinking?

Most diets cut out alcohol but it is now said that  The Champagne Diet not only allows you to drink alcohol but encourages a daily flute or two as part of a weight-loss diet.

According to Health24 website they state the Champagne Diet consists of classy foods with champagne.

Breakfast: Consists of high-fibre carbohydrate and monounsaturated fat such as whole-wheat bread with olive oil margarine.

Snack: Fresh fruit

Lunch: Pizza with goat’s cheese and vegetables

Dinner:  Lean grilled meat or smoked fish with salad or mix vegetables

Daily snacks: The best part of the diet 2 flutes of dry champagne.

The diet plan is “proven” to be between 1200 and 1400 kcal per day. Amazing foods with luxury champagne.

Who are we to say if all this works but if you’re having a go, then this Diet wouldn’t be the same without these amazing Ritzenhoff champagne glasses.

Putting on the Ritz(enhoff) at newroomsonline

November 15, 2010

I’m seriously stacked out for Christmas this year.

We’re currently moving newroomsonline to a newer platform which will give the customers a much better buying experience.

I’d really hoped I’d be able to bring you the new website before Christmas but am now beginning to doubt it. The more I refine my departments and look at designers and work out what goes where, naturally the longer before we can go live – but it’ll be worth it…..and I’m really not a fan of going live until things are how I want them to be…yes, that’s how much of a control freak I really am!

There’s always an amount of pain before the pleasure can set in and the best part of the new site is how many new products I’ll be able to bring you. I’m currently limited to 500 but with the help of shopcreator will be going into the realms of virtually limitless capacity! Yayyyy!

The newest range is from Germany’s Ritzenhoff. You’ll find their products under the new designers tab, and they feature piggy banks, milk glasses, water glasses and champagne glasses.

Ritzenhoff have been around for a long time and their work is the sort that you want to collect. They commission designs from internationally renowned designers, artists, cartoonists, architects and illustrators.

We’re featuring a handful of designers for starters including Luca Casini, Nils Kunath, Stephanie Roehe, Nicole Winter, Nicolas de Wael, Petra Mohr and many more.

All Ritzenhoff’s glasses come in absolutely stunning giftboxes, the milk cartons probably being the most fun, then the more formal water, or Aqua, boxes, while their Champus boxes are just perfect for wedding presents or for marking extra special occasions.

Each of the water glasses is screen printed around the outside of the glass to mimic etched glass, while the base of the glass carries a full colour image too.

The milk glasses, on the other hand, come in a delightful milk carton, carry information about the designer plus a leaflet about their latest designs. It’s important to note that runs can be quite limited and a number of designs are deleted annually.

The champagne glasses – Champus – come in fabulous gold and black giftboxes, complete with designer info and a serviette. Ritzy and Glitzy but oh so affordable.

And if you’re having trouble saving for any occasion then you need the perfect piggy bank to kick start that habit!

Petra Mohr's World Cup piggy!

Zwischenraum's sun bathing piggy!

What I love most about Ritzenhoff is that you get the whole package, well thought through. Their designs are divine, funny, elegant, whacky, you name it, they have a designer to fit your own personal taste. Their packaging is second to none. Not only does it match the item within but it’s been tastefully executed, they’ve not invested any less in the design of the boxes. And then there’s the price – it’s all very reasonably priced making it possible to buy something really special without having to take out a bank loan!

It’s all a matter of taste

October 22, 2010

I’m shortly launching our new website, an upgrade of the platform we already occupy at newroomsonline so am really very excited – exhausted but excited!

My current platform affords me only 500 products and as daft as that sounds, we’ve already exceeded that – so it was time to bite the bullet and upgrade. I can’t say I’m over the moon at the prospect of learning how to manage a whole new load of content but it promises better functionality and a much more agreeable user experience for all my lovely customers….so how can I argue with that???

I’m also diversifying the stock too.

I’ve shied away from investing in the more gimmicky side of the gift market because I’ve always felt from my days of having a shop that certain things don’t sit together in the eyes of the supplier so much as the end-buyer.

I vividly recall, when I had my high street ceramics outlet, being asked by one ceramist, whose work her sodium glazed vessels would sit alongside and how she nearly had an apoplexy when she learned that there was also student work in the gallery/shop.

At the time I failed to understand that it did/does matter to artists. Evidently seating a one off vessel by one artist alongside one by an as yet unknown, aspiring artist cheapens the former’s offering! Personally I disagree. And at the time I dug my heels in, adopting the, “fine I’ll stick with the students’ work, thanks” approach.

I do wonder the score in the online world.

I appreciate that I don’t run an online gallery, but it is amazing how few suppliers want to know what you sell. I can only guess that it’s because so many buyers google the product, jump into the site, purchase and leave, so realistically they probably don’t see what else is for sale adjacently….but I say that purely with regard to my current site. Alternatively they don’t ask because all they want to do is sell to anyone and everyone.

I trust my faithful customers, and new ones to come, will prefer the new version of the website…..no launch date as yet but coming soon and before Christmas.

We’ve already started with some great new names in Oliver Hemming – clocks and kitchenalia:

For a mad take on Halloween I’ve brought in some really cool, macabre Blood Bath goodies from Spinning Hat:

Blood Bag Shower Gel

Sweeney Todd, bloody butcher's apron

Here's Johnny - axe murder pillows

Plus we have lots more arriving from Herdy, Pantone and our newest supplier Ritzenhoff.

More very soon, sorry for the lack of bloggage but I’m run off my feet here at New Rooms towers!
